The hiking activity will start at the base camp at an altitude of 5,200 meters and lead them to hike all the way up to a point at 6,500 meters of altitude. On this occasion, a glacier photography activity will also be carried out.

Samdrup, head of the Tibetan Holy Mountain Hiking and Exploring Service Company, said hikers will be able to go deeply into the Himalaya mountain ranges, therein experiencing themselves the joys and hardships of hiking. Those who apply for taking part in this activity must be experienced in snow mountain hiking and also have to provide reports of physical examinations.

The location at an altitude of 6,500 meters is an important base camp for hiking along the northern slope. Normally, hiking teams must camp and stay overnight here to adjust to the high altitude environment. Hereafter, they will go down the mountain to rest and reinforce their bodies, and eventually will start to push ahead toward the top of the mountain. Besides, at such a 6500-meter altitude the glaciers stand in great numbers and an extremely beautiful scene can be seen from here.
