In recent days, a traditional folk festival, Russian Fa Qiang of Qiang people, was celebrated at Mao County, Sichuan Province, which is also the largest Qiang agglomeration in China. Russian Fa Qiang Festival, also called the Song Celestial Being Festival, is celebrated by Qiang People from May 3 to May 5 of lunar calendar of each year. Women of Qiang people, dressed in bright costumes, danced and sang regardless of age. Russian Fa Qiang Festival was listed on the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage in 2006.
