In order to further enhance the ability of public cultural services, Tibet has formally launched the digital cultural center project currently, Xinhua reported.

Through building digital software platform and venues for interactive experience, this project aims to create a “through train” for public cultural services and promote exchange and sharing of high-quality Tibetan cultural resources.

The Mass Art Center of Tibet Autonomous Region is responsible for the project construction. Mimar, head of the Center, said, “Based on the profound Tibetan cultural resources, the public cultural service system of Tibet has continuously been improved in recent years. But due to geographical conditions, technical level and other factors, the public and various grassroots cultural organizations lack in exchange and sharing of cultural information.

To break the bottlenecks for the development of Tibet's public cultural service system, the digital cultural center project was launched recently. It is learned that total investment in this project is over five million yuan (769,230 US dollars), and the project is expected to be completed and open to the public next year. This project mainly includes online digital software platform, actual centers for interactive experience and a library of local characteristic resources.
