Genie scenic area is located in the southern part of Litang's Reke Township, with an expanse of nearly 500 square kilometers. At 6,204 meters above sea level, Genie Mountain is the center of the area, surrounded by ancient forests, grasslands, lakes, hot springs, temples, and ethnic Tibetan villages.

Along the sprawling mountain range there are goats, musk deer, bears, Tibetan eared pheasants, and many other rare birds and animals roaming through the forests, along the lakesides, and on the roadsides. These animals can often be seen by travelers.

Genie's hot springs are so numerous that one could even call it "hot spring city".
